MY SISTER

MY SISTER

She was a teacher for many years,
The children loved her so!
Her life was filled with energy,
Always ready to get right up and go.

She raised a family of six children
And truly loved them, one and all.
She suffered heartbreak and pain
In life, but followed a higher call.

She lost a son and wondered why
God saw the need to take him away;
It was hard for her to bear his loss
and tears came quickly every day.
.
Head held high through the years,
She always did her very best -
The saddest thing is, that now,
She's on her way to an eternal rest.

Her memory's gone, her movement slow
Her eyes are no longer bright,
Home was fifty years ago
Not warm and safe tonight.

She's forgotten who we are,
She doesn't know our faces -
There are times she looks at us
And her eyes do show the traces
Of memories of so long ago -

When we were young and Spring came.
Love remembers.

Your kid sister, Julie

IN MEMORIAM:

A heart of gold stopped beating,
Two smiling eyes are at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
We speak about you often,
Of things you'd say and do -
We have such lovely memories
But we wish we still had you.
