We All Hear
When questions fall to ears that are deaf, a poet transform words with a keen craft.

We all hear like bats in the night
Blind to fear the illusion of sight
Gathered together in one accord
Voices stutter for a higher reward
Dark as late night humbled by stars
Our glorious might shattered in wars

We all hear the purpose of life
The reason to care beyond strife
Yet above the thunderous clamor
Echoing low in the final hour
One soft voice sings with cheer
We all must live, give and share
We all hear, ears pricked in unison
As we concede & heed this last lesson
To err is human
To hear is humane
