The Need to Pen a Poem Quizmo LaGrande I need to write a poem About wasteful, jaded lies, About fancy undertakings, Deceiving, lying eyes. But to pen just such a poem Would be fiction, made-up facts. How can I say, I have regret Of Cupid’s blunt attack? My soul has felt the aching, Finality and loss; My heart has learned the greatness Of loving—minus gloss. I’ll say, patience is a virtue, Though persistence not the key. To truly love, one must let go; If love returns, it's meant to be. So my writing will be one Of thankful loving care, To the one I love most truly, Who found love was always there. ~*~
