My company sent me to California on business and I was all set to go when I hopped into the back of the taxi. It seemed like this driver was taking all of the back streets to either avoid the rush hour traffic or to get me to give him a higher fare.

We were about four miles from the airport when I saw a disabled car along side the road. The hood and trunk were open and the only one I saw around the vehicle had a nice set of legs. I had the driver pull up along side of the car and stop. I rolled my window down and asked if I might be able to help her get somewhere. This angel of a woman looked up from the insides of the engine compartment and gazed straight into my eyes.

She flashed her pearly whites at me and I had forgotten where I was. She spoke but I was to much in a daze to hear her words. Her piercing hazel eyes, her coppered colored hair, and her chiseled legs had my complete attention.

"Mister," said the taxi driver, "do you just want me to let you off here?"

I had said yes without any hesitation. If I would have thought about the situation I was in I would have insisted that the woman come in the cab with us. I didn't know the first thing about car repairs but if I was going to impress this woman I was going to learn how in an instant.

"Oh I'm sorry," she said, "I didn't know you were headed to the airport."

I assured her it was alright and I could get a later flight. I took a look at her car like I knew what I was doing. I looked at the bunch of wires, the engine parts and the other gizmos and I believe the gods were smiling on me. Not only did I find what I thought was the problem but I thought I could fix it.

There was this wire that was loose and it was sitting on this round box with nine ports. The wire was supposed to be in the middle. I later found out that this wire was for the coil and the distrubtor cap. I just simply pushed the wire into the port and had her try to start the car.

The engine was an unwelcome sound. My cab left and if she drove off I was most definitely going to miss seeing this earthbound angel again. I was in for a surprise, she stepped out of the car as graceful as a cat. Her high heels clicked out her path towards me and she spoke.

Once again I barely heard the words coming out of her mouth. I was in shock that she was speaking to me.

"Sir," she said.

"You can call me Sam" I started to stutter.

"Sam," she began again, "how can I ever repay you?"

All of my attempts to be the gentleman failed, she met my every objection to payment with a soul melting smile. My hemming and hawing finally wore on her and she took the moment into her own hands.

"I'm going to repay you," she sternly said and then she grabbed my arm and pulled me close to her. I was enveloped in her womanly aroma and the last thing I can coherently remember is her kissing me.

The next thing I remember I was in her car with her holding my hand as she navigated the city streets with one eye on the road and the other on me. She is a beauty and I was pinching myself making sure that I wasn't dreaming this.

We pulled up to a house. She called it her summer home and I would call it my lifelong dream house. It was probably the biggest house I ever saw. The gated driveway was probably a good half mile long. There were manicured shrubbery meticulously placed along the house and driveway. The gardens were in full bloom of tulips and other spring flowers.

She brought the car to a stop and a gentleman opened the door for her. This man was wearing white gloves and a stylish uniform. For a minute I thought she had taken me to a hotel. I was still in shock as my tripping up the steps would prove. She just smiled and led me by the arm into the house.

There were an onslaught of servants waiting for her orders, which when she gave them they bowed and continued on with their duties. After they dispersed she took me in her arms and kissed me again.

I felt the earth move or at least my knees growing weak. I was at a loss for what to do, but she knew exactly what she wanted. She grabbed my hand and lead me up the large stairway into a bedroom...

She more than repaid me for my auto not-know-how, she fell in love with me as much as I fell for her. And with those kinds of emotions being shared I don't feel comfortable about sharing them. It was the best night, actually the start of the best nights of my life.
