I Don't Understand
A poem I wrote to a double-crossing female puppy...

I don't understand what you mean
When you say you love me
When you reach over to hold my hand
Or kiss me on the cheek

I don't understand what you mean
When you say you're my friend
Ask me to go to the movies
Or go see this "killer" band

I don't understand what you mean
When you say that I am crazy
That being happy all the time
Is bad for my health

And I certainly don't understand
Why you hate me for who I am
Tell me that you love me
Then talk behind my back
Say that I am the coolest you know
And two seconds later say I'm a freak show

Forgive me for asking
For I don't understand
How you can say you love me
Than laugh behind your hand

I can see all of this happening
But the fact still stands true
I am a good person
Willing to forgive you

I don't understand what you mean
When you say you're joking
When I walk into the bathroom
And hear you say I'm gay

I may be naive
With little understanding of this world
But the last that I checked
A friend was worth her weight in gold

A true friend doesn't say
That she loves me in one breath
And that she hates me in the next
Which is it? Answer me this!

Do you love me?
Do you hate me?
I really must know
For I just don't understand.

Dedicated to a person whom I thought truly loved me, but turned out to be using me so that she could become popular. Jessica, honey, this one is for you!
