Dreams Float About
Poem about losing all that you have/want, yet remaining hopeful....

Falling in fear,
Trying to succeed,
Failure comes so easily.
Darkness looms at every turn,
People don't help anyway.

Scared, afraid, alone,
Regret controls my thoughts,
Hurt, flailing, pain all over,
I fight until I feel dead.
Suffering through and through,
Betrayed at the worst of times,
Loneliness rolls in.

Meeting new people,
Acceptance smiles upon me,
Belonging, once again,
Feeling at ease.

Excitement, new attitude,
Glancing, starting,
Someone catches my eye,
Flirting, teasing, joking,
Cupid fools around.

Heartaching for him everyday,
Hoping, praying for a glimpse,
Fantasizing of what could be,
Wishing he would love me too.

My dreams float about,
And soon they are popped.

In time, pieces slip away,
Till someone new, fascinating enters my life,
Rainbows shoot through the scars,
My wounds heal, and bliss engulfs me,
Makes me want to dance in the rain.
