Past loves were just rehearsals...

Je T’Adore, Je T’Aime
by Marilyn Mackenzie

Once upon a time
In my life and in yours
There was such a longing
For love, for life, for mirth.

Time stood still for love
To kindle, to endure
Forever, our word now
This love that’s ours, so sure.

Our eyes they twinkle
Our hearts and minds they soar
To heights unknown to us
As least it was before.

It took God’s Hands to guide us
To show us what’s in store
Already guiding two as one
He’s giving us a tour.

Of what’s to be our life
With love that is mature
Love that grows with each new day
Gentle, kind, giving and more.

Laughter, tears, ups and downs
Life’s like a musical score,
Sometimes soft and melodic
Then crescendo and full bore.

Past loves were just rehearsals
But this is real amour
I’m blessed with two great loves now
It’s God and you I adore.
