I love one from a distance
In my thoughts and daytime dreams With a passion without resistance A love stuffed heart with bursting seams Here, far removed from her I reflect on her beauty and her charm And how they cause my soul to stir Thoughts kept secret, safe from harm My inhibitions keep me away Afraid of her ridicule, her rejection Afraid of the poisoned words she'd say The twisted reality of my inner reflection Just stab me with a thousand blades For that pain is sure and true While feelings live in masquerades Veiling her intentions far from view I'd build her a golden palace And place her on the throne But I love her from a distance And from there I love alone ![]()
