Of Solitude, Contemplation and Emptiness
Alone, serene, and set apart. Slowly mending a broken heart

Enter upon a sullen sea
Tranquil, yet deep with mystery
There in sits the island home
Of one who sits and thinks alone

Alone, serene, and set apart
Slowly mending a broken heart
He tries to stop his very dreams
Of a love, not what it seemed

And just as he thinks it’s healed
It’s torn again and in pain he reels
A thought of her has crossed his mind
Crushing the therapy of time

“Try to forget and block her out!”
Screams his mind with an echoed shout
“Get up, move on, and start again
Given time this pain must end!”

Left here alone he will finally decide
A place in his heart for her to reside
Left in the past he will finally agree
Scared but still beating, his heart is left free
