I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it I wouldn't tell you I love you if I didn't feel that way Those are words I don't just speak to anyone You don't say it just to sound good You have to mean it You have to feel it in your heart Can you honestly tell me you love me and mean it? Can you tell me those three words and swear on the heavens That those words are true, and as long as they ring Always will be? Does your heart feel the way mine does Every time we say it to each other Do you feel it flow through your body? When I look at you Those words are the only things that escape me I don't have to think I just know It must be the truth; it must be how I feel Because if it just comes out-without any help from my mind at all- Then I really do love you Is it really there? I wonder sometimes if you're giving me your all Your whole heart Don't tell me you love me if you don't mean it My heart years to hear the truth If you say it just because I do Then we both know we're in the wrong It means I'm wrong for loving you Because you don't really love me Don't say it to appease me It doesn't please me at all if it's not right If you don't feel it, don't let my heart think yours does So do you mean it when you say it? Do you get that wave of excitement When those words escape your lips? Do they escape your heart instead of your mind? It shouldn't be something you think about Just stop Take in and tell me what you feel It's not right, it's not wrong It's just the truth What my heart needs Say it because you-every fiber of you- Means it Or don't say anything at all If you can't say "I love you" and feel it, What can you say?
