TIDES

Nature has a way of washing away
The problems we face every day;
Out at the ocean we watch the tides
Come in and then just drift away.

High tides bring us the residue
Of all that has happened before
Then comes the low tide when
We can take the water no more.

'Tis but a rare trick of nature
That the high tide comes rolling in;
Bringing with it the memories
Of all that once might have been.

We run and jump into the water
And splash around in the wave;
Not really knowing or caring
That it will take us to the grave.

Then slowly the low tide is starting
To take back all the trouble and woe
Leaving us standing, barefooted,
On the sand, watching it go.

The tides are really a blessing
For nothing will stay the same -
It's all in believing and trusting
That it will be all right again.
