My Reflection
Thoughts that cross my mind looking in the mirror

I see she has the same eyes the same nose
I see she has the same fingers, the same toes
I see she has the same mouth, the same ears
Does she have the same dreams, the same fears?

Is her life better, filled with love and dreams
Her smiles seem real, filled with happiness or so it seems
She has a little sister who she adores
She spends her days swimming and running upon the beach shores

She must be prettier than I, with a pretty smile and happy eyes
She must never have to worry about broken promises willowed on sighs
She has those darling dimples and pretty hair
She probably knows what she wants and does it with her own exciting flare

I touch my hand to hers, never leaving mine
My eyes make contact with hers, as if searching for a treasurous find
I seem to know her like the back of my hand
Like I'm some crazy psycho fan

I remove my hand and look away knowing what I must know
Knowing that that girl in the mirror is just some sort of show
Just a fake me, a girl I wish I could be
I just have to look there and see

She's my reflection, a girl with no past, no future
Someone untouched by the cruelness of the world, someone so pure
She'll always be happy, you can see it in her eyes, in her smile, in her motions
You can tell just from her obvious notions

With one last look I say "good bye"
With one last smile, I turn away with a sigh
I know that until I see her again, she'll remain in her untouched world of pure
I know she'll be happy, with her happy eyes and happy smile, for this I'm sure.
