Candle In The Window
Finding something I've looked for all my life

Lost in a snowstorm of loneliness and seclusion
armed with but a pen and paper
they say the pen is mightier than the sword
mine has served me well thus far
but how long can I go?
for years I trudge on, wanting to be accepted
until I find a haven, a candle glowing
in the window
will it welcome me into its warmth and light?

the doors have open, letting me inside
for once in my life I mean something
my words are important
such praise and encouragement burns at my frostbitten heart
but I can still feel the comfort
I have a home here
my new family and friends
the "in" crowd
