I hold this town in contempt Despite the beauty it beholds I hold this town in contempt This place is eating away my soul I hate everything about it Like how small it is, how slow I hate how it makes me feel I hate how it's not home I miss being adventurous I miss the highway just next door The fast pace of the city life There always being more Now I'm stranded because I chose to be All I want is to get out To escape this place before I go insane I should've known that's what this town's about I hold this town in contempt There's nothing here to do It's always so quiet and boring I'm just lucky I'm in school I hold this town in contempt Damn it for not being home I hold this town in contempt For all the animosity it's shown I'll stick it out until I need to I'll wait till that fateful day When I can finally live in my city And forever there I'll always stay I hold this town in contempt Despite the beauty it beholds But i'll get out of Hell soon enough My city's all I'll ever want to know written in 2000 ![]()
