The passing
The checking
The fighting
The goals
Penalties
Scoring
The hunger
Of souls

My heart yearns
For Hockey
For speed on
The ice
It yearns for
The sport
Where no one
Plays nice

With pucks
And with skates
With pads
And with sticks
The game's
Played with passion
For keeps
Or for kicks

My heart yearns
For Hockey
For wingless
Flying
It yearns for
The game
Scorers find
Trying

The next shift
The face-off
The slapshot
The score
The offense
The defense
The raising
Crowd roars

My heart yearns
For Hockey
Those glorious
Years
It yearns for
The dream
That claims blood,
Sweat and tears

Oh my heart yearns
For Hockey
Wherever I go
All the way
From Vancouver
To Buffalo
