'Tis a Wish
Quizmo LaGrande 'Tis a wish, I wish I had, That I should fail to be so sad. Pray, can I say to ebbing tide, That as it leaves, please let me ride Upon the back of setting sun Beginning where the colors come; And take me please, to ease the end, Allow me further, hearts to mend. Oh sea, oh sea, bade hither me This longing for no wither be This fading of the sinking star To dark, to ashen grey of scar. Above love’s soaring canopy Warm and nurtured apathy? Above the waves of curling wind, That blows sand bare of naked sin, I call to that of life’s desire A song of hope and dreams aspire To cast my lonely self adrift On river bound to happiness Please, rippled water, swirling true Turning green to purple-blue Release my sadness, tame this fool Reflect the joy, and life refuel.
