FIRST SNOW Looking forward to the first snow, Watching the snowflakes softly falling; Slow and steady, this will stay. From the warmth of my home I can admire this beauty; Knowing that winter is soon upon us, The prediction is for much snow this year. I look out at the yard and see My little apple tree, standing bravely Against the chill of newfallen snow. The snow will provide a blanket Covering and protecting it from the cold. I put on my jacket and boots, Grab my camera and prepare to record This year's first snow. I know that before winter Gives way to Spring - That I will tire of white; Yet with the first snow I only see the miracle. ![]() revised 9/18/07
