Fascinating footsteps
On the path to nevermore.
A charming innuendo
Through life’s stained revolving door.

Listen, footsteps in the distance,
Heed smooth pebbles in their stir.
Inconsistent of my daydreams,
Lightly landing, step demur.

A crunching of the cobbles,
A spinning slow, then fast;
Footsteps for tomorrow,
Footprints of the past.
