My Bridge

I have been searching
For a bridge to my soul
A bridge that will make
My purpose seem whole

A bridge to the future
A bridge to the past
One that together
Makes each memory last

A bridge to reflect on
Over melodious waters
One that puts me in touch with
Being one of God’s daughters

Something so close
Yet secluded with peace
A place where body, mind
Spirit and soul can reach

A path in the distance
Will take me there
To sit and reflect on that
Bridge, so precious and rare

And when my time is finished
My story will finally end
But please let my memories wander
Over my bridge again
