Heart's Winter
A chilling, bitter cold. Tell me if you think this poem needs more.

I feel December in my heart
So bleak, dark, bitter and cold
Anguish ripping me apart
Not losing grip on it's hold

This frigid ache inside me
Debilitating and sterile
Floods ice, coursing through veins
I'm so numb I no longer fear peril

Frost surrounds my every move
An Arctic glare comes to my eyes
There will never be a flame hot enough
To melt my heart's demise

A sharp, cold wind cuts through the air
As my chilly presence enters
Horrific pain runs through me
To know that ice is my heart's center
