Butterflies By Quizmo LaGrande Ten thousand in anticipation Approach on puff of breeze. Over blue and greening sea Amass frivolous appease No will to pass or move away, The mind cannot contend. The heart will lead and fill the sail; The soul will know to bend. The nature of the rolling sea Is not to calm and tame, But deceive the inclination Find weak and mark with shame Like freed from pirate capture, Wings flutter hurried, dazed, Not caring skies are stormy Or clear in freedom’s haze. Now rising like the ocean spray Goodwill, with salt to taste, Wings of twice ten thousand Awe the belly in their wake. ~~***~~
