You assume that you know me
You accept what you’re seeing
Do you care that you break me,
that my pain you are feeding?
Through my sadness I’m smiling
to hide a heart that is bleeding
I live such a nightmare:
I can’t have what I’m needing
By you I’m held captive
Before you I’m kneeling
I know you can’t love me,
you can’t share my feelings
The confusion of this
leaves my tattered soul reeling
You are abusing my love,
my strength you are stealing
I have given you power
which you always are wielding
and the dream that you gave me
I have since stopped believing
Through your absence and lies
I remember I’m dreaming
I realize I must wake
now do you see I am leaving?
