And Then The Light Rushed In
I was stumbling in the dark, Amidst a Summer day, Wondering how to find you, Lord, In my faltering way. Then I wandered into Church Where people knelt to pray, I listened to some blessed hymns And heard the organ play. I felt my soul uplifted, Lord, Your love was all around, As people sat and listened still, To all the lovely sound. The music carried up Your praise, Its notes contained Your grace, And in the air, sweet voices raised Our prayers before your face. The sound was of your making, Lord, As were the joys within, At once my heart was opened, Lord, And then the light rushed in.
