![]() Images Of Autumn Brown leaves are scurrying Along the roadside as we walk, All is haste and hurrying, As the wind whispers its talk. Umbrellas are blown inside-out, Trees stripped of their leaves, The wind makes mischief all about, Tugging at our sleeves. Time to get inside our homes, Shut the dark night out, Sit beside the warm hearth-stones, As orange flames dance about. Black cat by black window-sill, An orange pumpkin's grin, Magic and moonlight, silent, still, Lit by a candle within. Broomsticks and a firelight's glow, Witches at midnight fly, Taking their black cats in tow Across the Autumn sky. My heart leaps when autumn comes The season of my birth For all its madness and magic fun Its mischief and its mirth
