Cosmic

I am always peering into the emptiness of the nighttime sky.
Looking for stars, or looking for answers.
Though I never find the answers in the sky, I find comfort and peace.
Maybe that is what I am truly searching for.

Hours pass by like a falling star, gone in an instant.
I take a deeply drawn breath of air then release it as I sigh.
There must be more to life than what presents itself before me.
The dreamscape of the heavens sits in silence and undisturbed.

My eyes must deceive me because this can’t be all there is.
I do not believe I harbor the answers within myself.
It would appear that life has lost its luster at this point.
And yet the nighttime sky greets me with open arms and elusive dreams.

I reside in the fact that those elusive dreams keep me going somehow.
Though there is something missing to make me feel complete inside.
I can always peer into the emptiness of the nighttime sky.
Though I never find an answer, I’ll find comfort and peace within my soul
