The masks we wear when we deceive Seen now through tired eyes, A burden carried much too long Listening to each others lies. A heart now bleeding, deep remorse For all that might have been; Had we not put on those masks And tried with lies to win. The burden thrown aside, The masks now thrown away; A broken heart, or maybe two, Now lies along the way.
