THE WORLD TODAY Listening to the news I find nothing good at all, From snipers to bombings And even a football brawl. There's not much hope With fear to face each day; When there is hate around us And we have a price to pay! Perhaps the only way That we can survive it all; Is to turn off the news And just ignore its call. Yet we all live here Together in the world today We need to make it better If we can just find a way. As I sit here alone tonight I hear a car motor roar Someone's up in arms - And I don't know what for. Makes me kind of nervous, For I've seen a lot of grief; What this old world needs now Is some God-given relief! This old world is not so bad If people would get smart; If they'd see the good in life And let it in their heart.
