SEEKING PERFECTION With breathless anticipation I opened up his letter - Sent by special delivery; His love was getting better! I ponder as I read the lines So perfect an admirer he! How was I to know then Our dreams could never be! With tears falling slowly I picked up my pen and pad, And sent him back a letter Telling him he was a cad! Love is never perfect - And sometimes we don't win; Yet I was seeking perfection When I said "yes" to him. .
