WHY DO THE BIRDS SING?
V. D. Hill

Why do the birds sing when I'm so lonely?
Why do the birds sing when I'm so blue?
Maybe they know how much my Father loves me,
Maybe they know how much He cares.

Why does the moon's light shine through my window,
Making my dark nights brighter than day?
Maybe the moon shines with my Father's light,
Letting me know my Savior is near.

I was a prisoner, lost and alone.
Without my Father, I had no home.
Now I am free, for He has lifted me
Up and away from sorrow and pain.

Sing pretty bluebirds, sing to His glory.
Sweet little sparrows, sing to His love.
Here in my heart, I'm singing praises with you,
Here in my heart, I'm praising Him too.
