CORNER TABLE The girl at the corner table Taps her pen, tick tick tick, between Words and ideas and phrases spilling into Her journal all over the page. The cofeeshop is crowded and loud with the sound Of mocha frappichino and fresh ground beans, But the only noise I can hear is that Tick tick tick, taking over from my heartbeat So that I die when the pen retreats From its abuses back to the page.
