GIFT OF COMPASSION It gets harder each year To go out and find A gift that will suit Your children and mine. So I think I will Put my checkbook away; No credit card debt For there's no need to pay. This year I am giving Straight from the heart A gift of compassion (At least it's a start!) I will try to listen To what you have to say; I'll try to remember, And treat you in the way That I'd like to be treated And perhaps understood - A gift of compassion Would be awfully good. To accept you and love you No matter the boast That you are just fine For I love you the most. Countrygrandmother 11/30/02
