Written for Dolleys Journey
Although her family and I had always used nothing but legal, non-explosive fireworks around her, by the time my goddaughter, Julie, was four years old, she realized that there were other types. I found this out when, to top off an outing, I took her to the Ball State University track and told her to have a seat on the bleachers so I could put on a fireworks show for her. She responded by preparing to protect her ears in case my answer was, "Yes," while asking me, "Do them fireworks talk?"
