Written for Dolleys Journey 's Out Of The Mouths Of Babes contest.

In 1940 when Elwood resident (just like asurething Be patient with his boo-boos, because he's just hired an editor--black_widow--who will help him iron things out just as soon as she finds the time. In the meantime, just make him feel welcome!), Wendell Willkie, was running for President, my good buddy, Marshall (a.k.a. "The Wandering Ranger. . .), was just four years old.

His very Republican family was very involved in politics.

Around this time, they got a new space heater that had some sort of round button (like a logo) with a lot of red in its color scheme.

Noticing this, Marshall exclaimed, "Mommy! Daddy! Look! Our new stove is wearing a Willkie button!"
