Hot Out of the Oven
Can't you just smell them? Mmmmm...

Warm chocolate brownies,

Speckled with walnuts.

The aroma...

Fresh-baked fudginess,

Tempting my nose.

Gently easing

A slice of brownie

Onto a crisp paper towel.

It lays, hot, on my palm.

A glass of ice-cold milk

Chills my other hand.

Then I am sitting,

The couch is comfy,

A movie plays on TV,

I take a bite.

The chocolate surrounding

My tongue-

Crunchy walnuts

Adding texture.

I am blissful.

A sip of milk-

Complimenting the flavors.

I sigh happily and then....

Take another bite.
