Eighteen
This came straight out of my head. I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way I do...

Under a swirling black canopy of eternity
Sparkling with millions of brilliant white stars,
I stand alone
At the crossroads of a dozen paths,

All

~Intertwining~

Freedom, danger, opportunity, risk....

~Uncertainty~

The bitter night air nips at my skin
Impatiently beckoning me to take the first step of my journey

FORWARD

Why? How? Which way?
Which way do I go?
A shiver runs down my spine
Goosebumps erupt
Symbolic of the many turbulent roads ahead

What am I leaving? Where shall I go?
Somebody tell me, for I do not know
I'm faced with adversity, excitement, and strife
Someone please lend me the road map of life
Help me, hold me, guide me, lead me
For I am only
Eighteen
