A TIME TO GO

Standing on the hillside at dusk
Remembering last summer's love,
I hold you close to me once more
Watching storm clouds up above.

This summer has changed our plans,
We no longer can be together;
For you are shipping out and I
Am left alone with dreams of forever.

We didn't ask for war to come,
It wasn't in our plans at all.
But our love is not ending as
You answer our countrys call.

Standing on the hillside at dusk,
Tears mingled with prayers for you
To come home safely to the love
That always will be true.
