Hi! Welcome to my first Flair of Writing Newsletter. I am Countess Megan Forbes, the editor and this is my first attempt at a newsletter. So, bear with me. I will be talking about Christmas. It is almost here, folks. I want to wish all of us a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!

Like a river winding its way to the sea fed by countless tributaries, the festival we call Christmas, has rolled down to us over two millenia. It has taken many different meanings, legends, customs and symbols along the way. Christmas has been celebrated by Kings, Queens, scholars, musicians, writers{That's us!}, politicians and business men and women. Christmas has been fed along the way by such tributary sources as the Bible, pre-Christian calendar customs, Christian lore and tradition, and a wide range of folk practices, beliefs and symbols.

What do you think of when you think of Christmas? You think of baby Jesus in the manager because it's Jesus' Birthday. You may also think of snow, Santa and his reindeer, Christmas cookies, Christmas trees, presents, Christmas cards, snowmen, angels, cold and fireplaces to name a few. I think of THE NUTCRACKER-sugar plum fairies, horse drawn sleighs, Christmas Carols sung by Bing Crosby, Perry Como, Pat Boone and Andy Williams. I also think of Thomas Kincaid Winter pictures, Rudolph and best of all, the navitity scene of Jesus's precious birth.

I have read a lot of neat Christmas items written on Stories by Stories Authors and I would like to share them with you. In the future, I will be talking about different subjects on all aspects of writing and I would like to include items written by you ones who are receiving my newsletter because I want to include all of you. I get 5 newsletters a week and I feel down hearted because my items never get picked. It's okay. Don't throw me a pity party. Like I said, I will include your items in my newsletter, in the future.
