THE FIRST CHRISTMAS LIGHTS The stars shone brightly in the sky And lit the manger where He lay; In swaddling clothes wrapped up tight, As an angel came to show the way. We sometimes forget the old story, Yet are reminded every year About this time when the Heavens Are lit up by stars so near. Perhaps the reason that our family Decorates the Christmas tree - With gaily colored lights so bright Is that somewhere in our memory We remember the first Christmas lights And know the blessings of the season - We place the angel on our tree And celebrate - the reason!
