GOD'S ANGER He threw down the gun; He hadn't meant to kill But she pushed him to it And her blood did spill. Frightened, he ran! Went as far away as he could; Thought he had escaped, And lived as best he could. Things of the past He had to divest; A clean start for him Seemed to be best. He had not counted On God's anger and so Was taken aback When winds started to blow. Then the skies opened, The thunder raged on; One sharp flash of lighting And his life was gone. "Thou shall not kill!" A commandment not kept; God's anger avenged her And all in Heaven wept. For to lose a soul Who committed such sin; Was one could-be angel Who wouldn't get in.
