Part Two

Dr. LaSalle, Dimera and Stephanie went into the Drawing Room to talk. They sat down and Dr. LaSalle started to talk. "Dimera, this is a complicated process. I will be giving you injections to replenish your body with vitamins and blood. In the event, your body can't produce blood, your brain cells will die and without oxygen and blood to your brain, your brain will shut down and you will be brain dead. You are already a vampire and instead of dying, you will be a mindless zombie. We will have advance warning on this. You may feel sick after the third treatment. If you have headaches and fainting spells, we will have to discontinue the treatments. You could stay a vampire or my treatments could cure you and make you mortal again. The choice is yours."

Dimera sighed as Stephanie patted his hand. "Dr. LaSalle, I will try the treatments but if I get sick, this deal is off."

"Fair enough. We will start the injections in the morning."
Dr. LaSalle shook Dimera's hand and retired to his room as did Dimera and Stephanie. Dimera was quiet as he kissed Stephanie good night.

The next morning, three hours before dawn, Dimera got his first injection and was able to stay up to see the sun come out. Stephanie and Dimera walked around the estate and Dimera felt so free. He hadn't saw the sunlight in three hundred years. Dimera and Stephanie were so happy. The second injection was given the next night and Dimera and Stephanie went into town to see the opera but Nicholas and Gunnar, Dimera's vampire enemies saw the two lovers together. They were mad because they knew Dimera was in Paris for the so called vampire cure. Our lovers didn't see them but this evil duo were plotting against the lovely couple.

The next morning, Dimera received the third injection and by night time, he fainted while he and Stephanie were in the library. "Dimera, please wake up." She wrapped her arms around him and held him close. As he came to, he was sweating and Stephanie started to leave the library to get Dr. LaSalle when she was grabbed by Gunnar and Nicholas. Dimera tried to hit Gunnar but he was too weak to fight as he fainted again. Dr. LaSalle came running to the library and had his crucifix. Vampires are scared of crucifixes and they released Stephanie and fled.

Dimera came to and was so relieved to see Stephanie and he embraced her.

"The treatments are off. My enemies have found me and I can no longer endure these treatments and risk those two creatures kidnapping Stephanie or trying to kill her. I love my Stephanie more then anything. We will be leaving in the morning."

Dr. LaSalle was not pleased but he nodded his head and didn't ask them to stay. He didn't want those two vampires coming back unless they wanted the cure. Luckily, he kept crucifixes in a special place and when those two bats entered his house, he knew they were vampires.

Dimera and Stephanie left for England the next morning to go to Andrella's. Andrela was the only one Dimera could turn to. They left by ship. Stephanie kept the room dark by hanging black curtains over the cabin windows to keep the sun out. Dimera and Stephanie arrived in England and took a taxi to Andrella's castle.

Andrella was so happy to see Dimera as she kissed his cheek. "Welcome home, my son. I have missed you."

"I missed you as well. This is Stephanie, the love of my life."

Andrella had a look of jealousy on her face but she embraced the young beautiful woman. Stephanie was intrigued by the vampire woman's beauty. She didn't look a day over thirty. Lucky her. Stephanie thought again. No, not really. Andrella was a vampire and so was Dimera. Stephanie's heart was saddened.

Dimera told Andrella all about Paris, Dr. LaSalle, Nicholas and Gunnar.

"My son, being a vampire has it's advantages. We have powers and can get anything we want. You have been a vampire for three hundred years. Why try to change it?"

"Mother, I'm in love.I want to be mortal."

Be in love. I have a friend who is a vampire married to a mortal. They are happy."

"I want it all. The mortal life and the life mortals live."
"You got sick, you told me. Do you wish to be a zombie?"

"Okay, Andrella." She frowned. "Mother, I love you but you did this to me. I don't want to argue. Can Stephanie and I stay?"

"Of course, dear." Stephanie looked scared.

"For Heaven's sake, Stephanie, relax. I won't bite. I already had dinner." This made Stephanie laugh.

"Mother. Don't joke."

"It is good to have you home dear." Andrella pushed her long, red hair back away from her face and the hair had a lot of body to it on a face that set off her green eyes.

Back in Paris, Dr. LaSalle had hired a detective to track down Dimera and Stephanie. He told the detective that Dimera had a rare blood disease and could spread and kill a lot of people if he and his girlfriend weren't found and Dimera was left untreated. Detective Irwin Massing was being paid a handsome of money for his services.

Stephanie enjoyed staying at the castle. She was reading a book one night when she was being watched by a bat, outside the window, unbeknownst to her. Dimera sat next to her on the love seat. "What are you reading my dear?"

"Wuthering Heights. Poor Catherine and Heathcliff. Their love wasn't meant to be."

"Do you feel the same way about us?"

"Of course not. I want to be with you no matter what. I love staying up with night with you and sleeping in the daytime. I love Andrella. I don't resent her for turning you into a vampire. She loves you like a son and maybe turning you into a vampire, she feels you have blood ties?"

"What is this? Saturday Night Live?" You and Andrella spend way too much time together!" They both laughed and shared a passionate kiss.

Detective Massing met Gunnar at a bar and Gunnar told him about Dimera and his mother. Massing sent out a spy to seek out Andrella's castle and the spy found the castle. Massing reported his findings to Dr. LaSalle and the doctor took a plane and two men with him to England. They arrived in England and the castle wasn't hard to find. Luckily, vampires sleep in the daytime. The threesome enterd the castle through the back entrance and found Stephanie asleep in one of the guest rooms. Stephanie woke up and screamed. Andrella and Dimera were asleep in their coffins and couldn't hear her.Stephanie kicked and tried to bite the intruders but they put her a cloth over her mouth soaked with ether as she fainted and was rendered helpless. When Stephanie awoke, she was in a musty old cramped room with a cot and no windows.

Dimera awoke hours later and was grief stricken when he couldn't find Stephanie.
