Force of Nature
You are at the mercy of the elements.

The unforgiving quake of the earth,
         Shattering,
         Battering,
Crumbling the world as we know it to be.

The cruel winds of a tornado,
         Ripping,
         Stripping,
Tearing apart the fabric of our reality.

The merciless torrents of a flood,
         Drowning,
         Downing,
Washing away our memories in a flash.

The ruthless blaze of a forest fire,
         Scorching,
         Torching,
Turning all our hopes and dreams to ash.

Nature takes without asking,
Changing our lives when we least expect.
She can serve us or hurt us,
and is a force that commands respect.
