Let it rain Let the sky burst open The clouds are swollen And ready to let loose Maybe the drops Will clear my muddled mind And mix in with These burning tears Tell me why I yearn for you When I know I shouldn't All you do is bring pain So just let it rain I can't stand to be Wherever you are So I’ll stand out here In the cold, cold rain Wash me free of you Cleanse my weary soul My aching heart needs refuge From the words you stab me with Love used to flow free As free as the drops That now run down my face When did it hit a drought? How can I make love pour The way that it used to? I need you to help me Open the floodgates Until then I stand here Drenched from head to toe The sky bursting free On my broken heart
