Haikku: poems of short perfection

 The Stallion

Blowing muffled snorts
He asks questions of the wind
I answer softly.

  The Colors Inside My Soul

Colored tapestry
Of our soul's design
The dance inside us

  The Channel Islands

The misty islands
Lie quiet and still
Inside the ocean's embrace

  Choose

Possibilities
Like the stars across the sky
Which one is brightest?

 Missed Exits

Life is like freeways
With many connections
One false move; you're lost

  The Wagon Wheel of Life

Within the center
Spokes of many directions
Centered, then outward

 The Stars Are Our Parents

People are stardust
Fragments of the Universe
We raise yearning eyes

 Yearning for Space

Distant stars call us
We soar on fake, hollow wings
Crying for our soul

 911

In half-masted flags
We clothed ourself in our grief
We will not forget

 Happy flower

Petals open
Eagerly tasting the sun
Do you see their smile?

 Loneliness

An abandoned house
With curtains blowing
Through broken windows

 So Fast

I am exhausted.
Why is it always so late
Before I'm ready?

  Music of the Dark

The stars sing with light
Then dance with the nighttime sky
Listen to their song

 On Ocean Currents

Seagulls glide the sky
Tilting on a single wing,
Gymnasts of the air

Shadow of Light on the Ocean

The lowering sun
Spreads shimmering spiderwebs
On the still water

 Clouds

Like frosting on blue
Or archways stretching nowhere
They halo the sky
