A Picture On The wall

There you hang a picture on our wall
A handsome man, strapping, strong and tall
It's been a long time since you went away
We think of you night and day
We can't believe when you walked out the door
That we wouldn't see you any more
We never had a fight, no bad words were said
You just said that you were going out before bed
All sort of things run through our head
Are you alive, or are you laying somewhere dead
We will always love you with all our hearts
But the day you left our world fell apart
Now every day we say a prayer
Putting you in God Almighty's care
And we wonder if you ever think of home
Of your Mom and Dad here alone
We would love to see you one more time
Or just to have you drop us a line
But we're very happy for the picture on the wall
As a picture is better than nothing at all.

UPDATE ON UPDATE!
To many years have gone by, and he's off now doing his thing, no one in our family has contact nor knows where he is, but as we say he is a grown man, our missing son, that lives within our hearts and his picture will always hangs on our living room wall.
