Existing Today

Yesterday I lived as a contented man.
Before love slipped through my hands.
From my hands my joy of life has gone.
Like the end of a beautiful country song.


Now only sweet memories of yesterday.
When joy and love surrounded my day.
Strong love will endure many heartaches.
When two become one sacrifices it takes.


If only one loves it can not remain strong.
It is the end of a beautiful country song.
I'm glad love and happiness came my way.
Even though it is gone from my life today.


My existing memories will stay in my heart.
About love of yesterday before it fell apart.
Can only ponder my memories of yesterday.
