We hiked this journey together! A steep hill to climb and we dusted each other off when we stumbled – saying ‘remember love, remember our obstacles will be our successes.
I did not want to go – I put it off, that journey with you, knowing it went only one of two ways - to hell or heaven – You gained my trust and tested my will power and finally believed in my abilities and strength and now we stand at the Apex and we overlook the canyon of our love and I am ready to Jump. Yet you stand back frightful, lacking faith, doubting your initial wisdom – “Why did we walk up here? Can’t you see the view I do?” I ask. But you can’t, you only see below the rocks that tripped us, and the snakes that stung us, and the dust drying our throats. I cry out and hear the echoes in my heart – “How long can I stand here on the edge of our love.” Resisting the desire to jump, plunge in – dive down. I walked too far to turn back –I beg you to be ready – You are not ready to jump, you say. Why then are we here? How can I stand ready and not you – I feel tricked and I am too tired to wait long – I need to fall – I grow dizzy and dream of jumping alone.
