[Auth note: This is the complete and exact text of the first poem I ever intended, written 11 Dec 89. I won't change it but would love to hear any comments. It opened the door to all the rest. Some 400+ later, I am still proud of this little one.]

A Rose in the Darkness

With her amber hair laced with gold
And skin so fair and yet so bold
And dark brown eyes
Young and yet wise
She is grace in disguise
A star as yet to rise;
She is a rose in the darkness.

With her words that soothe the soul
And moves so smooth and so whole
And intellect so prime
Years ahead of its time
She is a personality sublime
And in my dreams she is mine;
She is my rose in the darkness.
