THE PATH TO DESTINY Trembling, she stood at the rail, Looking at the darkness of the water below; This was her path to destiny, So many lonely years ago. She sat there, trembling, As she thought how close she came To ending her life in the darkness As the water called her name. Into his arms she turned, Trembling with relief and joy; In the darkness he held her close Her one true love, her boy. Trembling as he placed the ring On the finger of her left hand; No darkness in her destiny, No more the water can demand!
