My thoughts do drift in lazy time, As sparks from glowing embers climb The soot enhanc - ed fireback, The inner chimney layered black. From the sky a snowflake falls From the north a cold wind calls, Soon the landscape will be white As virgin as a maid's first night. The flickering flame illuminant From that fireplace nigrescent, Warming body, soul and mind Allowing time to unwind.
