Starlit Proposition
Let us go then, passing stillness by, to stroll the streets under a starlit sky, to walk in wonder and not wonder why, other than to share our company, you and I. Let us go, through popular and deserted streets, through throes of throngs and darker beats, where business more sordid sometimes occurs, business from his wallet into hers. Streets of fame and infamy both at a time, we'll walk anyway, your hand in mine, until sometime during this night's dreamy session my nerve should swell sufficient to ask my question. Oh but do not ask me now "what is it?" Let us to your home re-visit where I shall ask you in verse without a fear Intimately over and over in your ear: Be mine, my dear, be mine, my dear. [Auth note: with respect to my favorite poem "The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock" by T. S. Eliot]
